I Choose Today

I Choose Today...

to lean on the Everlasting Arms.

Good morning, my friend. What a beautiful fall day! Joyce and I take a walk down Holman Mill Road most mornings as the sun comes up. (Yes, Rachel, the sun does come up in the east! LOL)  It’s our time together and we don’t allow our cell phones to disrupt us during this time. Today we watched a flock of Canadian geese squawking overhead as they began their migration. But, they were flying north!  We also watched as one family was herding their children into a waiting van, ready to head to school.

Yet, in the busyness of the morning we had a sense of overwhelming peace. This peace comes from knowing, first of all, that we are not alone, but have each other. Second, the Lord reminds us that we are not alone because we have Him. So what if the Canadian Geese seem to be going the wrong way!  All the yelling and handwaving will not change anything. Like a pastor told me, “It’s none of your business!”

So let’s enjoy today.  Like the old hymn says, “What a fellowship, what a joy divine, leaning on the everlasting arms.” I’m still learning to lean.

Smile, God loves you, and so do I.
