I Choose Today to follow my Guide

The verse I always write in graduation cards is Psalms 32:8, which reads, “The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” When these young people are heading out to a world of choices, possibilities, freedoms, and uncertainties, having a guide is liberating and peaceful! However, in this verse it does not say God is giving us guidance, but instead He Himself is our guide! I recently went on a work trip where we had a social hour (more like three hours) where coworkers who only work together virtually get to visit with one another face to face. One of my coworkers wanted to head back to the hotel before everyone else, so he asked a friend to give him guidance on how to get back to the hotel, who in turn gave him landmarks in which to get back. When he stepped outside to leave, he discovered it had turned dark. Needless to say, the guidance, those landmarks were no longer visible, and my coworker got turned around and wandered for over an hour. A trek that should have taken less than five minutes took a

to follow Jesus for making the right decision

Good morning, my friend. This morning I choose to follow Jesus, even if there might be consequences. I love Matthew 12:9-13. Jesus chose to heal a man on the Sabbath even when He knew the religious leaders of His day would use it against Him. In my thinking, it would have been easier for Jesus to have done this on a different day. But, He knew what He was doing. When I am at a crossroad and needing to make a decision, I choose to  trust Him for the outcome. I encourage you today. Are you at a crossroad and don’t know what to do? It’s time to allow the Holy Spirit to help you make the right decision. I’m praying that today you will allow the Lord to help you make the right decision. Smile, God loves you, and so do I.

I Choose Today to Follow

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If any of you wants to be My follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me.” Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭24‬ ‭NLT‬‬ I think we have all had alarms go off for us personally we chose to ignore, wanting our own way, which, as we all know, lead further and further into sin and despair. As we all know, that one decision to ignore the warning, leads down a path to more and more sin; being led by the sin instead of subduing it. But we cannot do anything about ignoring past alarms, but we can repent and ask the Holy Spirit to redeem our sin (which Jesus already did on the cross), and choose not to ignore the warning bells going forward. Ask the Lord to use the mistakes made for His glory and don’t allow the enemy to keep reminding us of the mistakes of the past (so we cannot be fully focused on God and what God has for us to do in His perfect plan). Reminding us of our mistakes is one of the schemes of the devil, to get us to follow our sinful nature,
