I Choose Today...

…to be a blessing to others.

Good morning my friend. We have a well on our property that provides all of the water we use. Some people get their water from a different source. We hardly ever have a problem with our well, but when it stops, we have to first check and make sure that there is electricity going to the pump! If the power is on and there is no water, it’s usually a breaker that might need to be reset. Late one afternoon, Joyce was in the kitchen getting the coffee ready so it would be on when we got up in the morning. Reaching to turn on the kitchen faucet, you guessed it, there was no water! After checking things out, we knew that the pressure switch on the well pump had to be replaced. I texted Daniel, our maintenance man, and told him that the pressure switch had finally quit. He was at a church fellowship and said he would come over as soon as the meeting was over. I told him that I thought we would be ok until the morning, but I just wanted him to to be aware. So, we ended up using bottled water to brush our

…the Lord to be my Hiding Place

The Lord encouraged me with these words today from Psalm 27:1-6 (NLT) “The Lord is my light and my salvation—    so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress (my hiding place), protecting me from danger,    so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me,    when my enemies and foes attack me,    they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me,    my heart will not be afraid.Even if I am attacked,    I will remain confident. The one thing I ask of the Lord—    the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,    delighting in the Lord’s perfections    and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come;    he will hide me in his sanctuary.    He will place me out of reach on a high rock. Then I will hold my head high    above my enemies who surround me.At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy,    singing and praising the Lord with music.” I pray this morning that the Lord will encourage you with these verses and that, like me, you will seek Him. Smile, God loves you and so do I! In Him, I bring praise! Larry

…to seek God’s Face

Good morning my friend, today I choose to seek God’s face. As a person who is semi-retired, I’m looking for a part time job to offset the cost of travel. I realize that God wants all of us to seek Him. Today while seeking the Lord’s face, my devotions lead me to the book of Jeremiah. The exciting thing is that Joyce’s life verse is Jeremiah 29:11 and then the next two verses the Lord gave me in October 10, 2013. The reason I know that is because I had penned in my Bible that date when the Lord had originally laid this on my heart. Vs 11-13 “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” (NKJV) So I would encourage you today to seek, and to listen to Him. Smile God loves you! And so do I. In Him, Larry George
