I Choose Today...

I Choose Today to be Seen

A few weeks ago I wrote about loosing my cool with a customer service representative. I wrote about how God can use my mistakes to teach me. Well, I had the opportunity last week to put my new lesson learned into practice. I was coming home from a trip and had a carryon that was my personal item. The airline decided my bag was too big (even though it wasn’t on my first flight), and I would need to pay almost $100. I was frustrated as I getting onto the plane. The flight attendant approached me and ask me what was wrong. After the initial frustration, I found myself faced with a choice during the flight; to take out my frustration on the staff of the airline, or be kind to the flight attendant. I choose the latter. During the flight, the flight attendant told me I could probably get my money back if I email the airline. She asked for my email so she could give me the information. I handed her one of my “I Choose Today” business cards with my email on it. She walked away. She came back a time later and asked me what “I

I Choose Today to work on small things

Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” We tend to think of this verse for the big things: not getting a job, losing a loved one, a medical diagnosis, etc.. But what about the small stuff, the little things? Recently, I had a conversation with a customer service person about a mistake that happened on a shipment. After explaining the problem (there was a glitch in their system), she started off her explanation by saying I needed to be better at checking things on my end. Well that just got my heckles up and I responded in a negative way. The conversation escalated to where we were each responding negatively to one another and not really resolving the issue. The Holy Spirit convicted me so I stopped the conversation by asking her to talk to my husband because I needed to get to a meeting. The conversation between this rep and my husband lasted 3 minutes in which resulted in a resolution of the situation. So, how is this for good, you ask? Seems to me that

I Choose Today to Shine…

I choose today to shine… “Salvation is far from the wicked because they do not study your statutes.” Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭155‬ ‭CSB‬‬ This beings to mind my neighbors. They are unbelievers. One especially is outwardly contradictory when I bring up my faith in conversation or offer my prayer support (along with my other support). It seems like they are so far away from accepting Jesus as their savior. But nothing is impossible for God. One Sunday night, I invited over two of my neighbors for a girl’s night. We had apps and great conversation. But before we ate, I prayed. Both of them expected it too. And for the first time, they BOTH said “Amen;” even the one who is “so far away.” I see God working through me even as unlikely the situation is. I keep showing up and showing God to those in my realm of influence. At the end when we were saying goodbye, one of the ladies stayed behind to talk to me about what she is going through. God is moving! We just need to keep showing up and allowing our light to shine before man, as it says in 2 Cor 4:6, “For God, who
