I Choose Today

I Choose Today...

…to be a blessing to others.

Good morning my friend. We have a well on our property that provides all of the water we use. Some people get their water from a different source. We hardly ever have a problem with our well, but when it stops, we have to first check and make sure that there is electricity going to the pump! If the power is on and there is no water, it’s usually a breaker that might need to be reset.

Late one afternoon, Joyce was in the kitchen getting the coffee ready so it would be on when we got up in the morning. Reaching to turn on the kitchen faucet, you guessed it, there was no water! After checking things out, we knew that the pressure switch on the well pump had to be replaced. I texted Daniel, our maintenance man, and told him that the pressure switch had finally quit. He was at a church fellowship and said he would come over as soon as the meeting was over. I told him that I thought we would be ok until the morning, but I just wanted him to to be aware. So, we ended up using bottled water to brush our teeth got ready for bed.

I’m a early riser, so the next morning I got up around 5:00 a.m., grabbed my robe and slippers and quickly put them on and took the flashlight out of the kitchen drawer and walked out into the early morning. The stars were still out and the fresh dew was on the grass. Even though I had recently had knee surgery, I opened the well house door and literally got down and crawled inside to check and see if I could reset the switch and maybe get the coffee going before my wife got up. You men all know the saying, “Happy wife, Happy life!” As I reached for the well switch, I noticed the pressure switch had been replaced and I had full pressure. So I crawled out of the well house and went into the house, turned on the kitchen faucet, and yes, we had water! Daniel had come by and replaced the switch and left without saying anything. Actually, he thought I saw him drive in before we even went to bed. What a blessing it was to us. Then the Lord reminded me and said “Larry, now that you have been blessed, go bless someone.”

Luke 6:31,32 “Do to others as you would like them to do to you. If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that?”

Smile God loves you and so do I!

Be blessed my friend, pass it on.
