I Choose Today...

remembering Dad

Good morning my friend. Yesterday  my dad would have been 90 years old. Its hard to believe that he has been gone for 23 years. Dad was my age (67) when he went home to be with the Lord. I am so honored for all the things he taught me and how much he loved his family. He was so proud of his children and what they did. I once heard that the older we get the wiser our parents become. Proverbs 22:6 ” Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.(NKJV) I also like “Direct your children onto the right path, and when he is older , they will not leave it.” (NLT) John MacArthur  says in his Study Bible notes. “Way he should go. ” There is only one right way, God’s way, the way of life. That way is specified in great detail in Proverbs.  Earily training secures lifelong habits. Teaching God’s word and enforcing it loving discipline consistently. If we continue to follow this through out our lives as parents and then grandparents. allowing the  Holy Spirit to do the work in us. Our children will follow.

I praise the Lord for the legacy dad left me.

Thank you Lord Jesus for giving me a dad that loved you and wanted the best for his children. Today I renew my life to continue dads  legecy in my life. Living a life that will encourage my family, my grandkids and the people I meet in being like Him.

I love you dad, thanks for using your life to mould me.

Your son ,

Larry

Smile God loves you ! and so do I.
