I Choose Today to Embrace God’s Plan

God has a perfect plan and purpose, and He created you and me to step into that plan. He has already set up the plan, and His desire is that we step into it with Him. God placed His plan in our hearts. It is present in our hopes and dreams. He equips us to fulfill those hopes and dreams. Sometimes we think, “I can’t achieve what I hope and dream; it is way out of my abilities and comfort zone. My dreams are too outlandish. I’m just an average, ordinary person. Dreams don’t come true for people like me.” But if you believe that, let me walk you through these verses: “Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]. Glory to Him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 NLT (emphasis added). Let’s break these verses down: 1. “…God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us…” • Our hopes and dreams (the ones He placed in our hearts)

I Choose Today to Trust in God’s Plan

Let me ask you a very hard question: Have you ever been disappointed with God? Jesus? Did you ever expect something from God and felt He didn’t meet your expectation? Back in the time of Jesus, many were disappointed because Jesus didn’t live up to their expectation of what the Messiah was going to do for them. The Jewish community expected the Messiah to rescue them from Roman rule and oppression and become King of the Jews (Read Mark 15). So when Jesus died on the cross, even His closest followers were disappointed. Was what He said about Himself and God even true? What now? Were they supposed to continue looking for the Messiah, the one who is going to rescue them? What they were thinking about was the here and now; solving today’s problems. If Jesus was only there to help in their present need, what would happen to future generations? To the people who were not Jews? After all, they were the ones who labeled Him King of the Jews. But God and Jesus had something bigger in mind; something that would last forever, for whosoever will call on the name of the Lord! Their plan was for

I Choose Today to Ask Why

I am a project manager by trade. One of my favorite things to do when faced with an unknown challenge is to find the root cause.  Then I can strategize and make a plan to solve the problem. Project management methodology has several ways to find the root cause, but my favorite is the 5 Whys. The 5 Whys involves repeatedly asking ‘why’ when faced with a problem, aiming to uncover the root cause by moving beyond surface-level symptoms. This method not only applies in professional settings but also holds significance in our personal interactions. Let’s face it, we tend to judge the symptom rather than finding out the root cause of the symptom. For example, serval weeks ago, I told you about a gentleman I met who found himself addicted to drugs and living on the street. When we encounter people who are living that reality, we tend to judge them instead of getting to know the why: the root of their pain. God knew the root cause of people’s problems; the reason for their despair, hopelessness, animosity: sin and the separation from God because of the sin. But God had compassion on His creation, so He had a

I Choose Today to know I have a purpose

A few weeks ago I talked about God giving us the gift of His breath in our lungs. He designed us on purpose, for a purpose. As a reminder of David’s worship to his Lord when he said, ”You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.“Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬ God wasn’t arbitrary about how and why He made each and every one of us. He knit us together, as David said. He designed us with intentionality, as Paul tells the Ephesians church, ”For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.“Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬ This verse reminds us that He planned good things for us to do a long time ago. So when He is knitting us together and making His masterpiece with purpose and intentionality, why wouldn’t He equip us by giving us the gifts needed to succeed and flourish in the Master’s plan? He wouldn’t and He didn’t. He has given us Christ Jesus, who perfectly lived out these gifts while being fully man and fully Devine. He embodied all these gifts so
