I Choose Today...

I Choose Today to Breathe His Praise

Recently, during a worship service at church, we sang a song that truly spoke to my heart: “Great Are You Lord” by All Sons and Daughters. (I’ve added the link at the end so you can listen if you’d like.) The chorus resonates deeply:  “It’s Your breath in our lungs, so we pour out our praise, pour out our praise… to You only.”   This beautiful truth led me to reflect on the very moment God gave us breath—the moment He brought life into existence. “Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.”  —Genesis 2:7 (NLT)   This verse reveals three profound truths about our Creator: 1. We Are Created With Intentionality and Purpose God didn’t just make Adam—He formed him. Every detail was intentional, deliberate, and purposeful. Psalm 139:13 reminds us, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Have you ever watched someone knit? Each stitch is part of a larger plan, crafted with care. That’s how God made you—yes, you! He chose every detail about

I Choose Today to use His Breath

At church yesterday, they sang a praise and worship song that just spoke to my heart called Great is the Lord by All Sons and Daughters (I put the link at the bottom so you can listen if you want).  The chorus says, “It’s your breath in my lungs, so I pour out my praise, pour out my praise… to You only.” This brought to mind when God created Adam in the beginning. “Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬ ‭ This verse tells me three things: First, the Lord intentionally made Adam. He actively formed him on purpose for a purpose. There is a verse in Psalms (139:13) talking about how God knit us in our mother’s womb. Have you ever knitted something or known someone who knits? They have a plan, they take time in picking out the right attributes that will make a perfect product. This tells me He created us, yes, you, with intentionality and care. How amazing is that! That alone is a reason to give Him praise! Doesn’t that

I Choose Today to be in awe of God’s majestic creation

While on a business trip, I am chasing a sunset for the first time ever. It is so amazing. Here I am 30,000 feet in the air, the clouds just beneath the plane seem to stretch like a vast ocean, occasionally looking like giant waves in the midst.  It is breathtaking. Just the sheer beauty, but the brilliance and creativity of the creator of this glorious demonstration dichotomy of power, gentleness, and peace. It shows me just how small I am in contrast to the world as a whole, but it is allowing to view it with humility, awe, and spectacular praise because the my God Almighty who made this marvelous living art I am witnessing, I also call Abba (Daddy). He is so powerful, yet so gentle. So brilliant, yet so loving. So vast, yet so personal to me. His glory is evident in His creation. “The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.” Psalms‬ ‭19‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬ As I look upon this beautiful masterpiece of a sunset, His most prize work of art is His creation of His/their likeness in human form! He wants us to mirror His likeness to the world like this sunset

To Stay Focused

I choose today to stay focused “Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭165‬ ‭NLT‬‬ David knew the importance of being strong and not growing weary. David understood that if he stumbled, because he was being pursued, he would be caught by the enemy. He knew his strength came from God’s Word. His peace also came from keeping his focus on God and His goodness and deliverance. It is good to know who our enemy is; Satan and not others. Satan is the great deceiver. He takes the  20% of which is not good and makes that our focus instead of the 80% of what is good. He makes it seem like the bad is all there is; that there is no way out of it or getting beyond it other than to quit (give up, walk away) from relationships, neighbors, coworkers, family. He makes it seem like quitting/walking away is our only option for peace. But that is a big fat lie! God Word says (through David, Joshua, Isaiah, Jesus) that when we meditate on God’s Word, we will find new strength, prosper in all we do, not stumble but stand, not grow
