There’s a lot I could chase right now—momentum, strategy, visibility. The podcast is almost ready, and everything’s in motion. But there’s this moment from Scripture I can’t stop thinking about.
It’s when God tells Moses, “Go on up to the land I promised you. I’ll even send an angel ahead to clear the way… but I’m not going with you, because you are a stiff-necked people.” (Exodus 33:3)
And Moses, in all his boldness and intimacy with God, basically says, “Then don’t send us. We’re not going anywhere without You.” (Exodus 33:15)
He knew the Promised Land meant nothing without the Presence of God.
That’s exactly where I’m at right now. I don’t want to launch a podcast, write another word, or take another step—unless the Lord is in it. His Presence is the promise. Without Him, it’s just noise.
This calling has always been about obedience, not production. About God’s heart, not my platform. So I’ve found myself praying something that’s become almost a whisper I repeat throughout the day:
“Don’t let me get ahead of You, Lord.”
Because I’ve seen what happens when I rush, when I strive, when I try to manufacture something that only the Spirit can breathe life into. It looks shiny for a moment, but it burns out fast. And it leaves me weary.
Moses understood this. In Exodus 33, God offers the people the very thing they’ve been longing for—the land flowing with milk and honey. But the cost? God’s Presence wouldn’t go with them.
That sounds like a terrifying trade.
Yet how many times do we chase good things while quietly letting go of the best thing?
God’s promises are beautiful, but His Presence is what marks us. That’s what Moses says in verse 16—
“What else will distinguish me and Your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
It’s not our projects, our gifts, our calling.
It’s Him.
So here I am. Launch plans in hand. But I’m not moving forward just because everything looks ready. I’m asking, “God, are You going with me?” Because if the answer is no, then neither am I.
Even if it means pausing.
Even if it means waiting.
Even if it means walking slower than I planned.
Because I don’t want the Promised Land without His Presence.
I don’t want a podcast without His power.
I don’t want a platform without His anointing.
Just give me You, Lord.
If you feel led, would you pray with me? Not just for a successful podcast launch—but for God’s hand to be in every part of it. For His Spirit to go before every word, every listener, every moment. That this would never be about production, but about presence.
And while you’re at it… maybe take a moment to pause and ask:
What are you moving toward right now? Is it the blessing? The goal? The visibility?
Or is it Him?
Because you can have everything you thought you wanted and still feel empty if God’s presence isn’t in it. But even in the waiting—even in the unknown—if He’s there, that’s enough.
Don’t settle for the promise without the Promiser.
Wait on His presence. Walk in His timing. Choose intimacy over activity.
Because when He goes with us, everything changes
