I Choose Today...

I Choose Today to Remember I Belong to Him

There is a verse where Jesus says, “Apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) At first glance, that can feel confusing. Because Scripture also tells us that when we belong to Christ, God lives in us and we live in Him (1 John 4:15). So how do those truths fit together? If He dwells in us, does that mean we never do anything apart from Him? Paul helps us understand this in his letter to the Corinthians. The believers there had started believing that what they did with their bodies didn’t matter much. But Paul corrected that thinking with a powerful reminder: “The one who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” (1 Corinthians 6:17) Salvation isn’t just a belief, it’s a union. We belong to Christ. We are not spiritually independent people anymore. Paul goes even further: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you…? Therefore honor God with your bodies.” (1 Corinthians 6:19–20) Here’s the key. Jesus’ words, “apart from Me you can do nothing,” are not saying we are incapable of action, clearly we make choices every day. What He is saying is

I Choose Today to See the Seed in My Hand

Have you ever looked at something small and thought, What could this possibly amount to?A dream, a step of faith, a prayer whispered when you don’t feel strong enough to believe it out loud. It feels so small, almost insignificant. But what if God sees it differently? Seeds don’t look like much. They’re tiny, fragile, forgettable. But inside a seed is an entire future, roots, branches, fruit, even shade for generations to come. The extraordinary is already written into the ordinary. It just hasn’t had its season to grow yet. Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed…” (Matthew 13:31–32). Small at the start, but when planted, it grows into something so much larger than we could imagine. The same is true for you. The seed in your hand, your willingness, your obedience, your faith, may not look like much. But God is the One who makes it grow. Your part is to plant, to trust, to release it into His hands. Don’t despise what feels small today. That prayer matters. That step of faith matters. That “yes” matters. You don’t have to see the full picture yet. You just need to believe the seed has a

I Choose Today to Hear God’s Voice

Noise…it is everywhere. As I sit on the back porch, I hear cars on the highway, garage doors lifting, airplanes overhead, birds singing. That’s just the external noise. Inside my mind, there’s another layer—worries, to-do lists, what-ifs, rehearsed conversations, and finances. And on top of all that, there’s the noise of technology—social media feeds, endless opinions, controversies, comparisons, hateful speech, division. That’s a lot of sound for just a few minutes on the back porch. So how, in the middle of all this noise, do we possibly hear the voice of God? How do we notice the gentle whisper of the Holy Spirit—comforting, guiding, encouraging, reminding us of His love? The answer is simple, but not always easy: we learn to listen. Learning to Listen In any relationship, communication is two-sided. We don’t just talk—we listen. Our relationship with God is no different. He is speaking, but the question is: are we listening? Here are some of the ways Scripture reminds us God speaks to us: • Through His Word (the Bible) “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…” (2 Timothy 3:16–17). His Word guides our steps: “Your word is a lamp

I Choose Today to Keep God Center

In the vastness of the universe, there is an order and purpose that holds everything together—a design that keeps planets in orbit and stars in place. Imagine if everything in existence revolved around one fixed point, a single source of strength and purpose. When God is at the center of our lives, He becomes that fixed point—the foundation around which everything else finds its balance and meaning. He’s not just a part of our lives; He is the heart of it all. He directs our steps, shapes our priorities, and brings peace to the chaos. Living with God at the center means aligning our lives around His wisdom, love, and guidance. It means letting Him be the steady axis that keeps everything else in its proper place. There’s a phrase we often hear in the church: “We live in a fallen world.” It’s a reminder that we live among broken systems, human pride, and people doing what’s right in their own eyes. I recently heard someone say the universe was designed to revolve around one center—that’s what gives it order. The problem is, ever since sin entered the world, everyone wants to be the center of their own universe. We
