There’s a kind of weariness that doesn’t come from one hard moment…
It comes from showing up day after day.
From carrying responsibility.
From holding things together.
From continuing to move forward… even when your strength feels low.
And if I’m being honest… I’ve been feeling that lately.
Not in a dramatic way.
Not in a crisis.
Just… weary.
And maybe you’ve felt that too.
You’re still showing up.
You’re still doing what needs to be done.
But it’s getting harder.
And the question becomes… how do we keep going when we feel like we’re running on empty?
Because perseverance sounds good in theory…
But in real life, it can feel exhausting.
Paul writes about this kind of weariness when he says that outwardly we may feel like we’re wasting away… but inwardly, something else is happening.
Something is being renewed.
And I think that’s what we miss sometimes.
We focus on how we feel on the outside…
But God is working on the inside.
Strengthening.
Renewing.
Sustaining.
Not always in ways we can see…
But in ways that matter deeply.
Because perseverance isn’t about having endless strength.
It’s about staying anchored when your strength feels limited.
Isaiah reminds us not to fear… because God is with us.
Not to be dismayed… because He is our God.
He strengthens us.
He helps us.
He upholds us.
That means we were never meant to carry this on our own.
And I think that’s where we struggle.
We try to keep going in our own strength.
We push through.
We power through.
We tell ourselves to just get through the day.
But God is inviting us into something different.
Not striving…
But dependence.
Not pushing harder…
But leaning in.
Psalm 23 paints such a beautiful picture of this.
A Shepherd who leads.
Who restores.
Who walks with us through valleys.
Not around them…
Through them.
And that means we’re not alone in our weariness.
God is present in it.
Walking with us.
Sustaining us.
Strengthening us… one step at a time.
So if you’re feeling weary today…
I want you to hear this clearly:
You don’t have to have it all together.
You don’t have to push through in your own strength.
You don’t have to pretend you’re okay.
You can come to God exactly where you are.
Tired.
Worn out.
Running low.
And trust that He will meet you there.
Because perseverance isn’t about never feeling weary.
It’s about continuing to stand… even when you are.
And not by your strength…
But by His.
One step at a time.
One day at a time.
⸻
Today’s Step
If you’re feeling weary today… pause.
Take a moment to acknowledge where you are.
Then bring that weariness to God.
Not with polished words.
Not with perfect prayers.
Just honestly.
And instead of trying to push through…
Choose to lean on Him.
