Over the past year, we’ve been walking a journey together.
Fifty episodes.
Fifty conversations.
Fifty opportunities to pause, reflect, and choose differently.
And as I sat with this moment, Episode 51, the end of this first season, I felt led to do something simple.
Pause.
Because sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is stop and look at where God has brought us.
Over the last several episodes, we’ve been talking about identity. Who we are in Christ. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, both in my own life and in walking alongside others, it’s this:
Everything changes when we understand who we are.
Because when we don’t know who we are, we strive. We compare. We perform. We try to earn what has already been given.
But when identity settles into our hearts, something shifts.
We stop striving… and we begin living.
This series began with receiving identity. Not carving it. Not earning it. Not proving it. But receiving it. Because so many of us have spent years trying to become someone, trying to measure up, trying to prove our worth, trying to feel like we belong.
But Scripture reminds us that in Christ, identity is not something we achieve. It’s something we receive.
Then we talked about being chosen and known. That we are not overlooked. Not forgotten. Not an afterthought. But intentionally loved by God.
We talked about resting in being loved and secure. Because God is not just loving, He is love. Which means His love does not shift with our performance. It doesn’t fade when we struggle. It remains.
We talked about acceptance. The difference between being accepted and trying to earn approval. Because in Christ, we are already accepted. And when we begin to believe that, we stop striving for approval and start living from acceptance.
We talked about favor, not as something we earn, but as the presence of God with us. Like Moses saying, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not send us.” Because favor is not about what we accomplish. It’s about who walks with us.
Then we talked about being image-bearers. Created in God’s image. Designed to reflect His character into the world. Not because we generate the light, but because we reflect it.
We talked about reflecting Christ in everyday life. In the ordinary moments. On a Tuesday. In traffic. In conversations. In the quiet decisions no one else sees.
And then we talked about carrying His name. That when we belong to God, we don’t just live for ourselves. We represent Him.
Not perfectly.
But genuinely.
And when you step back and look at all of that together, something beautiful begins to emerge.
Identity leads to transformation.
Transformation leads to reflection.
Reflection reveals Christ.
But here’s something important to remember.
Identity is not something we understand once and move on from. Identity is something we grow into.
There will still be days when you forget. Days when you slip back into striving. Days when you question your worth. Days when you wonder if God’s love really applies to you.
And on those days, you don’t need to start over.
You simply need to return.
Return to who you already are.
Because your identity doesn’t change when your feelings change. Your identity doesn’t shift when your circumstances shift. Your identity is rooted in Christ.
Which means you don’t wake up each morning trying to become someone new. You wake up remembering who you already are.
Loved.
Chosen.
Accepted.
Secure.
A child of God.
An image-bearer.
A reflection of Christ.
And when identity settles in your heart, you begin living differently.
Not out of pressure.
But out of peace.
Not out of fear.
But out of belonging.
And maybe that’s the invitation today.
To stop striving to become…
and start living from who you already are.
Because when you live from identity, you walk differently. You speak differently. You love differently. And the character of Christ begins to show up in your life.
Not perfectly.
But faithfully.
You don’t have to become someone new.
You simply need to live from who you already are.
So today…
choose to live from your identity.
And as we close this first season together, I also want to say thank you. Thank you for walking alongside me this past year. Thank you for listening, for encouraging, and for allowing me to be part of your journey.
Next week marks the one-year anniversary of the I Choose Today Podcast, and I would love to celebrate it with you.
For that episode, I’m going to be answering your questions. If there’s something on your heart, about faith, identity, hearing God’s voice, or something you’re walking through, I would love to hear from you.
You can send your questions to:
ichoosetoday.connect@gmail.com
or DM me on Instagram at @i.choose.today
I’m really looking forward to hearing from you.
And as we step into what comes next, remember this simple truth:
You don’t have to become someone new.
You simply need to live from who you already are.
So today…
choose to live from your identity.

I hope you got my previous comments. I may have lost it when I clicked on the weekly posts, it went away. Anyway I’ll try to remember what I said. Basically I admire the understanding that you write with, I hear the heart of God. Congratulations on a job well done.
