I Choose Today to Let the River Flow Through Me

Have you ever walked through a season where your soul felt dry? Where no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t muster up energy or connection with God?

I’ve been there. And in those moments, I’ve often found myself asking: “Lord, do You still see me? Do You still move in places like this?”

That’s why I love the imagery of the river of God that flows all throughout Scripture. From Genesis to Revelation, the river represents His presence — and what strikes me is that it always moves toward the broken, the weary, and the hurting.

It’s not a river you have to chase down. It’s not reserved for the people who “have it all together.” God’s living water flows toward those who need it most. And that means you.

When life feels barren, His Spirit is still flowing. When the landscape of your heart looks more like a desert than a garden, His presence hasn’t stopped moving. The river of God brings healing, renewal, and life — and it flows right into your everyday, ordinary moments.

And here’s the part that takes my breath away: as followers of Jesus, we’re not just standing beside the river. We’re carriers of it. His Spirit lives in us so that His life-giving presence can flow through us into a dry and thirsty world.

Friend, you don’t have to conjure this up on your own. You don’t have to pretend you’re full when you feel empty. The invitation is to simply open yourself to the Spirit and let Him flow. His presence is still moving — and it’s flowing toward you.

💡 Today’s Step:
Take a quiet moment to pray:
“Lord, let Your river flow through me today. Show me one place or one person where You want to pour out Your presence through my life.”

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, thank You that Your presence flows like a river toward the broken places in us and around us. Teach us to stop striving and start receiving. And as we do, let Your Spirit flow through us into the lives of others who desperately need Your healing and hope. Amen.

  1. What a great encouragement to know that Holy Spirit can flow out of me as I yield myself to Him. The information about how water that does not flow becomes stagnant and dangerous brings a challenge to my heart to make sure that I am using what the Lord gives me to be a blessing to others. Thank you, Molinda, for your commitment to this ministry!

    • Thank you for your encouragement! It is precious to me.

The premise of not getting g stagnant is eye opening for me too! Such a great reminder to not loose heart and keep our eyes on Him, and allow the rivers of Jesus flow through our lives to others.
