I Choose Today to Keep God Center

In the vastness of the universe, there is an order and purpose that holds everything together—a design that keeps planets in orbit and stars in place. Imagine if everything in existence revolved around one fixed point, a single source of strength and purpose.

When God is at the center of our lives, He becomes that fixed point—the foundation around which everything else finds its balance and meaning. He’s not just a part of our lives; He is the heart of it all. He directs our steps, shapes our priorities, and brings peace to the chaos.

Living with God at the center means aligning our lives around His wisdom, love, and guidance. It means letting Him be the steady axis that keeps everything else in its proper place.

There’s a phrase we often hear in the church: “We live in a fallen world.” It’s a reminder that we live among broken systems, human pride, and people doing what’s right in their own eyes.

I recently heard someone say the universe was designed to revolve around one center—that’s what gives it order. The problem is, ever since sin entered the world, everyone wants to be the center of their own universe. We want everything and everyone to orbit around us. But when billions of self-made centers collide, the result is chaos.

Here’s the good news: the One who made the universe is still in control. He hasn’t lost His grip on the axis.

Moses wrote in Psalm 90:2, “Before the mountains were born, before You gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, You are God.”

Did you catch that? Moses says You are God. Present tense. Not were. Even while wandering in the wilderness—surrounded by complaining people and uncertainty—Moses declared God was still God.

And Moses wasn’t just waxing poetic. He trusted the One who led with a cloud by day and fire by night. The One who formed the mountains could move them.

Paul echoes this truth in Colossians 1:16–17, saying, “For in Him all things were created… and in Him all things hold together.

I need that reminder today. When things feel unsteady or uncertain, I have to fix my focus on the true orbit—on the God who is God. Not the loud, disruptive mini-orbits vying for attention. But the One who spoke all things into being and still holds all things together.

Today’s Step

Take a moment today to pause and ask yourself:

Is God truly at the center of my life right now?

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you any areas where you’ve unknowingly placed yourself—or someone else—at the center. Invite Him to realign your heart and your priorities.

Join me in praying this prayer today and throughout the week:

“Lord, be the center of my life, my thoughts, and my actions. Help me to live in harmony with Your purpose and to find peace in Your presence. Keep my focus on You and not the chaos around me. You are God, now and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
