I Choose Today...

I Choose Today to be an Change Agent

Have you seen the news lately? Driven on a freeway or busy road? Gone to the store? To a sporting event? If the answer is yes, then you have probably witnessed (or participated) in all the angst, anger, evil, and hate that is going on all around us.

I know sometimes it can be overwhelming and frustrating to see and feel all the immorality happening. There doesn’t seem to be a way to peace and goodness because people are inherently wicked. David reminds us of this truth when he says,

”…There is no one who does good, no, not even one.“ Psalms‬ ‭53‬:‭3‬a ‭AMP‬‬

Why doesn’t Jesus come back already? This world is so bad; so much tragedy, so much evil; so much pain and suffering. What is He waiting for? He is waiting for you, your neighbor, your child, your family member, your enemy to come to Him for their hope and salvation. Peter says it best when he states,

”The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, Hie is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.“ 2 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬

God is being extraordinary patient, as one version says. Jesus came so everyone would know the love of God first hand! Everyone. That means me. That means you. So He waits…patiently.

He loves us so much that He is patiently waiting for WHOSOEVER to believe in Him so they won’t die without Him, but have eternal life through Christ Jesus.

In conclusion, amidst the chaos and darkness that seem to pervade our world, there remains a glimmer of hope and a call to action. Despite the overwhelming immorality and evil, God’s patience persists, not wanting anyone to perish but to find repentance and salvation.

As believers, we are called to emulate this patience and love, extending mercy, forgiveness, and hope to those around us. Let us remember that every act of kindness, every display of love, brings us one step closer to fulfilling God’s desire for all to experience His grace. So, let’s join hands and hearts in spreading the message of hope and redemption, knowing that even in the darkest moments, the light of Christ shines brightest.

As you reflect on these truths, consider how you can be a beacon of hope in your own community. Will you reach out to a neighbor in need? Extend forgiveness to someone who has wronged you? Share the message of salvation with those who have yet to hear it? Let us be bold and intentional in our actions, knowing that each step we take brings us closer to a world transformed by the love of Christ.

Take a moment to pray and ask God how He can use you to bring hope and healing to those around you. Whether it’s through a simple act of kindness or a bold proclamation of truth, know that your efforts are not in vain. Together, let’s be agents of change, bringing light to the darkest corners of our world.
