I Choose Today to Answer the Call to Action

When I first started writing this blog, I had no idea what I was doing—only that the Lord was prompting me to share. Since then, I’ve learned a lot about how to write, how to connect, and how to end a post with something called a call to action.

In writing terms, a call to action encourages someone to respond. To move. To engage. But the truth is, calls to action didn’t originate with marketing or blogs. They’re woven all throughout Scripture.

The Bible is full of divine invitations that required someone to take a step of faith:

• Abraham was called to leave everything familiar and go to an unknown land.

• He later readied his son for sacrifice in obedience to God’s voice.

• Moses’ parents defied Pharaoh and hid their baby boy.

• Noah built an ark when rain didn’t even exist yet.

• Esther risked her life to stand before the king and save her people.

• David stepped onto the battlefield with a sling and a stone.

• Jesus Himself told us to go into all the world and preach the gospel.

• And the greatest call to action? Jesus answering the call to be the perfect and final sacrifice for our sin—restoring our relationship with the Father.

If you need more examples, just read Hebrews 11. It’s one long list of people who didn’t just believe—they acted on their belief.

And then the writer of Hebrews continues with this challenge:

So let us throw off everything that stands in our way. Let us throw off any sin that holds on to us so tightly. And let us keep on running the race marked out for us. Let us keep looking to Jesus. He is the one who started this journey of faith. And he is the one who completes the journey of faith.

— Hebrews 12:1–2a (NIRV)

For months, I delayed answering my own call to action—because honestly, it felt like too much. Too heavy. Too costly. But God kept bringing me back to this:

Faith doesn’t just believe. Faith moves.

Obedience doesn’t always come with clarity or convenience. It often comes with trembling hands and tear-filled eyes. But still—we move.

So let me ask you gently, what’s keeping you from saying yes?

Is it fear of failing?

Is it the pain of past disappointment?

Is it uncertainty about how it will all turn out?

Maybe it’s the quiet whisper of unbelief or the weight of distraction. Maybe you just feel tired.

Whatever it is, you’re not alone.

But you are invited.

You’re invited into something bigger than comfort or control.

You’re invited into purpose.

Into courage.

Into trust.

And that invitation? It’s not dependent on your qualifications. It’s rooted in God’s power and faithfulness to complete what He starts in you.

So today, I challenge you to name the thing stirring in your heart.

💭 Is it starting something new?

💭 Serving someone in need?

💭 Letting go of a sin pattern or stepping out of your comfort zone?

💭 Is it simply choosing to trust God again?

Whatever it is—bring it to the Lord. Lay it before Him. And ask for the courage to say yes.

You don’t have to leap.

You just have to take the next step.

Because when God calls… that step becomes sacred.
