I Choose Today to Love: An Easter Reflection
The world shows no mercy. It is a hard, unrelenting force—loud, demanding, self-centered. It keeps score, holds grudges, and prides itself on being right. It boasts in success and compares endlessly, always asking, “How do I measure up?” But Jesus showed us something different. “No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). And that’s exactly what He did. While we were still sinning, He died for us. It continues today—patient, gentle, never forcing. He waits for us to choose Him… even though He already chose us. He never gives up on us. Our failures don’t stop His faithfulness. He is our hope—the very source of it. He wipes the slate clean. His mercy makes space for us to begin again. He is Love. When Scripture describes love in 1 Corinthians 13, it’s not just a list of ideals—it’s a picture of Jesus Himself. Every attribute of love written there is found in Him. He is patient. He is kind. He
