I Choose Today to Believe God Still Revives What Looks Dead

Have you ever experienced the death of a dream… a relationship… a job… a family… your innocence? In our own strength, we are powerless to resurrect what’s been lost. But I have hope-filled news for you today, I know Someone who does have the power to resurrect the dead. His name is Jesus. There is a historical account in Scripture of Lazarus, one of Jesus’ close friends. Lazarus became sick and died rather quickly. His sisters had sent for Jesus, hoping He would come and heal him, but Jesus didn’t arrive before Lazarus passed. And then four days after his death, Jesus finally showed up. To Martha and Mary, it must have felt like all hope was gone. But with Jesus, being “too late” is still right on time for the impossible. Because healing may have passed, but resurrection had not. In John’s Gospel, we see Jesus respond to Martha with these powerful words: “Jesus told her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?’” (John 11:25–26, NLT) “Do you believe this, Martha?”

I Choose Today to Trust God When Life Feels Overwhelming (The Miracle May Already Be Upstream)

Sometimes life brings us into seasons where everything just feels… heavy. Not catastrophic, not dramatic, just full. Full of responsibility. Full of decisions. Full of deadlines. Full of needs. Full of emotion. I’ve been in that place lately. Not falling apart, just stretched, tired, and staring at a to-do list that feels bigger than my capacity. The other day I was sharing this with my mentor, the overwhelm, the shifting in my ministry, and the sense that God was expanding something in me that I don’t yet have room for. He listened and then said, “You need an assistant.” I laughed out loud. “That’s great,” I said, “but I can’t afford one.” And that’s when he reminded me of something I had forgotten: “You prayed for two years for a mentor. You didn’t know where he would come from, and God brought me into your life from a direction you never expected. Why wouldn’t God provide for this need the same way? Pray for the assistant the same way you prayed for the mentor.” His confidence in God’s provision made something inside me pause. He was right. I’ve been asking God for help, but expecting Him to stay within the

I Choose Today to Go Through This Season Well

“Lord, help me go through this season well…” I recently heard the story of a man who was given only a short time to live after a cancer diagnosis. Instead of asking God for healing, his prayer was, “Lord, help me to die well.” After his passing, his wife—now a widow—began to pray, “Lord, help me to grieve well.” Their words have stayed with me. We all walk through seasons we never planned for—loss, pain, transition, disappointment. Seasons where there’s no playbook and no clear direction. We don’t know how to process, much less how to do them well. But I believe this couple discovered the secret: they turned to God. God isn’t surprised by the storms that hit our lives. He’s not scrambling to come up with a plan. Through the Holy Spirit living inside us, He knows exactly what we need and is faithful to guide us through—step by step. We’ve all seen what happens when we try to navigate those hard seasons on our own. Things unravel. Our pain deepens. Or worse, it spills over onto others, making the situation heavier than before. I know this firsthand. But when we surrender our circumstances to God, even without

I Choose Today to Trust God’s Promises: You Are Not Alone

Promises—those declarations or assurances that something will happen—are so often broken. When they are, trust gets harder. Depending on the promise and who broke it, a relationship can feel damaged beyond repair. And if we’re honest, those wounds can make it hard to trust again in other relationships too. But here’s the good news, friend: God always keeps His promises. Always. Numbers 23:19 reminds us, “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” And Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” If God has said it, He is faithful to do it. So when He says, “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you” (Deuteronomy 31:8), you can count on it. That means when you feel alone, abandoned, or like His presence is far away—you don’t have to stay stuck in fear. Take courage. He is already ahead of you. He is beside you. He is

I Choose Today to Let the River Flow Through Me

Have you ever walked through a season where your soul felt dry? Where no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t muster up energy or connection with God? I’ve been there. And in those moments, I’ve often found myself asking: “Lord, do You still see me? Do You still move in places like this?” That’s why I love the imagery of the river of God that flows all throughout Scripture. From Genesis to Revelation, the river represents His presence — and what strikes me is that it always moves toward the broken, the weary, and the hurting. It’s not a river you have to chase down. It’s not reserved for the people who “have it all together.” God’s living water flows toward those who need it most. And that means you. When life feels barren, His Spirit is still flowing. When the landscape of your heart looks more like a desert than a garden, His presence hasn’t stopped moving. The river of God brings healing, renewal, and life — and it flows right into your everyday, ordinary moments. And here’s the part that takes my breath away: as followers of Jesus, we’re not just standing beside the river. We’re carriers
