I Choose Today to Let God’s Blessings Flow Through Me

A couple of years ago, we visited friends out of town and went to church with them. As we walked in, the ushers handed each person a small three-inch piece of PVC pipe with 2 Corinthians 9:11 printed on it: “Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.” The pastor explained that this verse reminds us of a simple truth: we are blessed to be a blessing. The pipe was a visual, what God pours into our lives is meant to flow through us to others. Our gifts. Our encouragement. Our joy. Our resources. Our compassion. None of it is meant to stop with us. I’ve thought about that little pipe often since that day. It still sits on my bookshelf as a quiet reminder to keep my life open… to let God’s blessings move through me, not just to me. God never intended for us to be containers. He intended us to be conduits, living expressions of His generosity, His kindness, and His heart. I Choose Today to Bring Change

Have you seen the news lately? Driven down a freeway or walked through a crowded store? It feels like everywhere we turn, there’s angst, anger, and brokenness. Sometimes it’s overwhelming, the darkness of this world can weigh heavy. David reminds us of this truth: “There is no one who does good, no, not even one.” — Psalm 53:3a AMP And maybe you’ve wondered, Why doesn’t God just come back already? Why does He wait while so much evil, pain, and suffering continue? Scripture answers that too: “The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.” — 2 Peter 3:9 God’s extraordinary patience is a reflection of His extraordinary love. He waits so that more can come—your family member, your neighbor, even your enemy. Jesus came so that everyone could experience God’s love firsthand. That means me. That means you. I Choose Today to Be an Influencer and Imitator

I’ve been reading John Maxwell’s book Developing the Leader Within You, and he talks about how influence leaves a mark on our everyday lives. He shares this quote: “No one can understand that mysterious thing we call influence… yet… every one of us continually exerts influence, either to heal, to bless, to leave marks of beauty; or to wound, to hurt, to poison, to stain other lives.” Influence is powerful. It often works quietly, shaping our actions, decisions, and the way we interact with others—sometimes without us even realizing it. A recent trip to the grocery store reminded me just how real this is. My husband and I went to a specialty grocery store to buy a specific bread for an event. We ended up with ten packages of it in our cart. As we were checking out, the man in front of us stepped away from the register and came back with six packages of the very same bread. He laughed and said, “I saw how many you were buying, and I figured it must be really good!” He didn’t know us. We didn’t say a word to him about the bread. Yet in that moment, our simple action

I Choose Today to Believe Healing Runs Deeper

I was reading Acts 3 this morning—the story where Peter and John encounter the man crippled from birth, sitting at the temple gate called Beautiful. He was asking for money. That’s all he knew to ask for. He had likely given up hope for anything beyond daily provision, let alone complete healing. He was surviving, not thriving. His condition defined him. And then… everything changed. Peter looked straight at him and said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” And he did. But here’s the part that really struck me: the physical healing wasn’t the end of the story—it was just the beginning. It wasn’t about muscles suddenly working or legs straightening—it was about an invitation into a whole new life. A soul restored. A testimony birthed. So often we stop at the surface. We look for God to fix what’s broken in our lives—to meet the need in front of us—and we miss that He’s offering something much deeper: eternal healing, restoration, and relationship. I Choose Today to Recognize the Good

“Every good and perfect gift is from above…” James 1:17 (NIV) I don’t always recognize the good. Not because it’s not there, but because I’m often too distracted to notice it. But God’s goodness? It hasn’t stopped flowing — even when life has felt heavy, or lonely, or hard. It’s not always loud or obvious. Sometimes it looks like a kind word, an unexpected text, a quiet morning, or strength for one more step. I remember when I was really sick for a long time. I had friend just show up with some soup and vitamins. She sat with me and just chatted for a while. It didn’t fix anything, but it reminded me that God hadn’t left. That even in my hard moments, His goodness still found me. Moments like that have changed the way I see things. Because when we train our eyes to look for His goodness, we begin to realize how present He’s always been. Romans 8:28 says that God works all things together for good — not just the pleasant or easy things. That means the pain, the waiting, the uncertainty — none of it is wasted.
