Have you ever woken up with a song in your heart—a melody that carries you through the day? This morning was one of those moments for me. I woke up singing the chorus of This is How I Thank the Lord by Mosaic MSC (link to song at the end of this post).
Moved by the lyrics, I played the song as part of my quiet time worship. And as I listened, I found myself deeply convicted:
“So this is how I thank the Lord for saving me
When I was weak, so I will sing
This is how I thank the Lord for everything
This is how I thank the Lord”
The vocalist was showing her gratitude by using her gift—the very talent God gave her—to glorify Him. It made me pause and ask myself: Am I thanking the Lord by fully using the gifts He’s given me to glorify Him?
One of the gifts God has given me is the ability to encourage others. I’ve written before about God’s motivational gifts, including the gift of encouragement. Romans 12 reminds us, “If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging” (Romans 12:8 NLT).
Encouragement is about more than offering kind words—it’s about seeing the good in others, bringing out their best, and helping them recognize their God-given potential. Writing this blog is one way I strive to encourage you, but lately, God has called me to take a step further.
Starting a podcast has been on my heart for a while, but if I’m honest, fear has held me back. I’ve felt inadequate—unqualified even. But here’s the truth I’ve been learning: I am inadequate on my own. Yet, God’s strength is made perfect in my weakness.
It’s time to stop holding back His gifts and start using them—not just as an act of obedience, but as a way to thank Him. Gratitude isn’t just something we say—it’s something we live out.
Paul writes, “Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way” (Colossians 3:17 MSG).
This morning’s reflection reminded me that worship isn’t confined to singing or praying. It’s also in the choices we make and the steps we take to glorify Him. By stepping into our callings and using our gifts, we reflect His goodness and show our thankfulness in a tangible way.
So, what about you? Are there gifts you’ve been hesitant to use or a calling you’ve been afraid to step into? I encourage you to join me in taking that leap of faith. Whether it’s writing, singing, serving, or something else entirely, let’s commit to using our God-given talents boldly and joyfully for His glory.
Let’s thank the Lord, not just with our words but with our lives. Are you ready to take the next step? Together, let’s move forward in gratitude, worship, and purpose.
This is how we thank the Lord.

What a great thing it is to know that I can live out my faith and my love for the Lord just by walking in obedience to Him and using the talents He has given me for His glory! Oh, that I will be aware of opportunities to serve Him this way!
