I Choose Today to Stand in the Armor I’ve Been Given

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”  Ephesians 6:11

There’s something important about that phrase: put on the full armor of God.

It doesn’t say create it.
It doesn’t say earn it.
It doesn’t say assemble it from your own strength.

It says put on what God has already given you.

The armor is His.

That means we were never meant to manufacture our own protection. We were never meant to fight spiritual battles with emotional reactions, clever arguments, or human resilience alone. God has already provided what we need to stand.

And notice the purpose:
So that you can
stand.

Not scramble.
Not strive.
Not achieve victory.

Just stand.

Victory has already been secured through Jesus’ death and resurrection. We are not fighting for victory. We are standing from victory.

That changes everything.

Lately, I’ve felt attacked from multiple directions, some expected, many not. The kind of hits that try to knock the wind out of you. The kind that whisper, “Maybe you should stop. Maybe you misunderstood your calling. Maybe God won’t come through.”

The enemy doesn’t need to destroy you to derail you. He just needs to discourage you.

And that’s why this passage matters so much right now.

Because when the lies come, I remember that truth is not something I create, it’s something I fasten on like a belt.

When fear rises, I remember that faith is not blind optimism, it’s trust in God’s proven faithfulness.

When accusations try to pierce my heart, I remember that righteousness is not my performance, it’s Christ’s covering.

When my mind feels under siege, I remember that salvation is my helmet. My identity is secure.

And when deception tries to twist reality, I take up the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, not as a weapon of aggression, but as a weapon of clarity.

Putting on the armor of God isn’t about what I can do with it.

It’s about what God does through it.

Isaiah gives us a beautiful picture of this long before Paul ever wrote to the Ephesians:

“He put on righteousness as His breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on His head…” (Isaiah 59:17)

The armor was His first.

He wears righteousness.
He is truth.
He brings salvation.

And now, in Christ, He invites us to stand clothed in what belongs to Him.

That means I do not stand in my own strength.

I stand in His.

So when the attacks feel relentless, I will not panic.
When discouragement whispers, I will not agree.
When the battle feels unfair, I will not retreat.

I will stand.

Not because I am strong.

But because He is.

Today’s Step:
Before you respond to the next wave of pressure, pause. Ask yourself, “Am I reacting in my own strength, or am I standing in the armor God has already given me?” Then consciously name one piece of armor you need to put on today, truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, peace, or the Word, and anchor yourself there.

Keep choosing today,
Mo
