Have you ever experienced the death of a dream, a relationship, a job, a family, your innocence? In our own efforts, we are powerless to resurrect these things. But, I have news; I know someone who does have the power to resurrect what is dead: Jesus!
There is an historical account of Lazarus who was a good friend of Jesus’. He fell sick and died pretty quickly. He had two sisters who had sent for Jesus before his death in hopes that Jesus would heal him. Jesus did not come right away and Lazarus died. Four days after his death, Jesus shows up. He is too late to heal is friend, but with Jesus, He is never too late to do the impossible; to resurrect what was once dead.
In John, we see Jesus response to Martha, Lazarus’ sister saying, “Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”” John 11:25-26 NLT
“Do you believe this, Martha?” Such a simple question, right? Martha didn’t question who Jesus was and how anyone dead in Christ would be raised with Him when He gathers the saints. But she missed what He was saying here. He wasn’t talking about the future resurrection, she was talking about the present resurrection of the dead.
So my question here is do we believe it? Do we believe Jesus can resurrect the death of a dream, relationship, marriage, your brokenness or broken heart, even innocence that was stolen and destroyed?
Jesus’ power to resurrect isn’t limited to physical death—it extends to every area of our lives that feels lifeless and broken. When we invite Him into our pain and trust Him with what seems impossible, He breathes new life into what we thought was gone forever. Just as He called Lazarus out of the grave, He can call your heart, your dreams, and your relationships out of darkness and into His marvelous light. The question He asked Martha echoes to us today: “Do you believe this?”
So, do you?
Take a moment today to lay before Jesus whatever feels broken or lifeless in your life. Pray and ask Him to bring His resurrection power into those areas. Trust that He is the resurrection and the life—not just in eternity but here and now. If you’re ready, write down one area you need Him to revive, and surrender it to Him in faith.
If you’d like to share your journey or need prayer, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s walk together in faith, believing in the One who brings dead things to life.

God is so faithful! He does breath life into lifelessness. He has done that for me so many times, especially over the past year. I have been reminded lately that I need to keep my heart and mind focused on HIM, not on my circumstances. Where HE is, there is peace! Thank you, Molinda, for a great blog.
