As a military wife, navigating life’s unexpected turns has become my daily journey. Each day presents unforeseen challenges, and despite lacking specific skills, I respond to the call with unwavering faith.
From babysitting to leading fundraisers, my path is a testament to adapting to unforeseen circumstances. In the midst of planning family programs or supporting troops with packages, I discovered the profound truth in King Solomon’s wisdom:
”We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.“
(Proverbs 16:9 NLT)
Recently, God redirected my plans at a conference focused on podcasting. Instead of mere information, I received healing, clarity, and a divine path forward. The greatest blessings emerged in the form of newfound friends and a supportive community of believers.
While I’m a planner, God’s plans consistently surpass my expectations. So, the next time life necessitates a pivot, seek the blessings God has in store. You might be pleasantly surprised.

So good! Thank you! As a momma of 4 with a newborn I feel like planning is a huge struggle. I can get caught up in trying to plan around feedings and naps and when my plan falls through, baby doesnt nap, i have a child being disobedient, I get anxious. What if I didn’t feel that way and just say come what may! After my best was given by making wise choices to prepare my family for the best and then let my response be an example of faithfulness to my family as plans change. A response of peace, not stress.
This is so great, Vic! This reminds me exactly of Phil 4:6-7, where Paul teaches us what to do with our anxiety or stresses of the day. We stop, pray, ask for what we need in that moment, and thank God for His provision for His perfect plan. Then the peace that passes all understanding will come, just like you said. Lately, I have put this into practice. When I feel anxious, I turn my anxiety into a prayer. And you know what, the peace does come! Maybe not right away, but later I look back and can see it! Your comment is a great reminder to turn my anxiety of the changes/interruptions in my day into prayer. Thank you for sharing! I learn so much for others!
That is beautiful,
Love it!! ❤️❤️
