Do you, like me, ever doubt you are enough?
I was spending time with God this morning and asking Him if I loved Him enough; if I did enough for Him. It was like I was insecure in my relationship with Him and trying to be worthy… enough.
In that moment, when I was questioning my worthiness, He lovingly told me I was enough. I didn’t need to strive to be enough because I already was.
He cares so much about you and me that He even knows how many hairs we have on our heads (Matt 10:30). Do you know anyone else who would want to know that much detail about you? He knows every single detail and says “you are enough.”
Enough for Him to love. Enough for Him to send His Son to die so we may have an intimate relationship with Him. Enough for Him to use. Enough to be chosen, redeemed, seen. Enough to delight Him. Enough for Him to take the time to care. You are enough for Him.
Zephaniah 3:17 tells us that “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
God’s delight in us reminds us that we are cherished and enough in His eyes. He even sings over you! The idea of my Heavenly Father singing over me conjures up a vision of a parent rocking a child while singing over them. He is doing that because He loves and delights in us!
So, I am enough for Him to send His only Son to die for and enough to be perfectly loved by a delighted Father. What more can you ask for?
Take a moment today to rest in the truth that you are enough for God—just as you are. Spend some time in prayer or reflection, inviting Him to show you His delight in you. Maybe even read Zephaniah 3:17 aloud, and imagine God singing over you. Let His love settle deep into your heart, and remember: you don’t need to strive to be worthy; you already are in His eyes.
