Waiting can feel like one of the hardest parts of our faith journey.
Not because we’re doing nothing…
But because we don’t know what God is doing.
We find ourselves in seasons where prayers feel unanswered.
Direction feels unclear.
Progress feels slow.
And if we’re honest… it can feel like nothing is happening.
But what if something is happening?
What if the waiting isn’t empty… but intentional?
I’ve been in a season like that recently.
I haven’t sensed a clear direction yet for what’s next. And if you’re anything like me, that can feel uncomfortable. I like to have a plan. I like to know where I’m going.
But sometimes God doesn’t give us the full picture.
Sometimes He asks us to wait.
And that’s where perseverance becomes real.
Not in the doing…
But in the trusting.
Isaiah reminds us that those who wait on the Lord will have their strength renewed. Not by striving harder… but by remaining anchored in Him.
Waiting isn’t passive.
It’s not sitting back and doing nothing.
It’s an active, intentional choice to trust God when you don’t have answers.
It’s choosing to believe He is working… even when you don’t see it.
Psalm 27 encourages us to wait on the Lord with courage. That tells me something important, waiting requires strength.
It requires perseverance.
Because it goes against our natural desire to move, fix, and figure things out.
But God often does some of His deepest work in the waiting.
Paul writes that suffering produces perseverance…perseverance produces character… and character produces hope.
That means the waiting isn’t wasted.
It’s producing something in you.
It’s deepening your trust.
It’s strengthening your faith.
It’s shaping who you are becoming.
Looking back, I can see seasons in my life where I was waiting for clarity… waiting for direction… waiting for something to change.
And in those moments, it felt slow.
It felt uncertain.
But now I can see that God was working beneath the surface.
He was building something in me that I couldn’t see at the time.
And I think that’s where we often struggle.
We want visible progress.
But God is often doing invisible work.
He’s strengthening your roots.
He’s preparing your heart.
He’s aligning your steps.
So if you find yourself in a waiting season right now…
I want to encourage you, don’t rush it.
Don’t try to force what God hasn’t revealed yet.
Instead… trust Him in the waiting.
Because He is working.
Even here.
Even now.
Even when you can’t see it.
Waiting is not wasted.
It’s where perseverance grows.
And as you continue to trust Him in the waiting… you’ll begin to see that He was faithful all along.
One step at a time.
One day at a time.
Today’s Step
Take a moment today to identify where you are waiting.
Then choose to trust God in that space.
Not with all the answers.
Not with full clarity.
But with a willing heart.
Because perseverance in the waiting begins with trust.

It’s the “rushing in where angels fear to tread” that gets us in trouble. Good reminder to be active and WAIT!
God isn’t idle, He is at work weather we see it or not, and it’s for our good.
