I Choose Today to Find Wisdom in the Pause

Sometimes God invites us to stop before we’re ready.

Not because He’s finished working, but because He’s still forming something within us.

Lately, I’ve felt Him whisper, “Pause.” Not quit. Not retreat. Just pause. And I’ll be honest, that can be hard for someone who likes to keep moving, producing, and checking things off. But the Lord has been reminding me that even in the stillness, He’s still at work.

There’s wisdom in the pause.

It’s where God realigns what’s been pulled off-center. It’s where we catch our breath long enough to notice His.

When life feels chaotic and noisy, we often assume movement equals progress. But sometimes, transformation happens most deeply when everything else goes quiet. The pause is where our roots reach down again into trust, where striving gives way to surrender.

This week, someone sent me a sticker that says, “He is working in the waiting.”

It’s been sitting on my desk, right where I can see it while I write. It’s a simple reminder that even when I feel paused, God is still moving on my behalf. He’s arranging things I can’t see, preparing what I’m not yet ready to hold, and teaching me that rest doesn’t mean regression.

So if you’re in a season where everything feels slower than you expected, or maybe even silent, remember this: the pause isn’t punishment. It’s preparation.

The same God who called you to move will sometimes call you to be still.

And the same Spirit who empowers your doing also restores your being.

Transformation doesn’t stop just because the pace slows down. Sometimes it’s in the stillness that God’s voice becomes the clearest.

Friend, maybe this week your “yes” isn’t to doing more, but to pausing long enough to let the Holy Spirit do His work in you.

There’s wisdom in that.

Today’s Step:

Find ten minutes today to pause with God, no phone, no to-do list, no noise. Just stillness. Ask Him, “Lord, what are You forming in me right now?” Then listen.

  1. I love how God always confirms what He is saying to me. This week, I clearly heard Him whisper to me to “wait,” and this blog is such an amazing confirmation of that. I must pause and wait on His working on my behalf. I’m not being lazy, just resting…there is a huge difference. Thank you, Molinda, for speaking truth.
