A little while back, a pastor friend of mine wrote a sermon about the faith of Noah. He pointed out that Noah is listed in the “Hall of Fame” of Faith:
“It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before.”
— Hebrews 11:7a (NLT)
Noah had great faith because he obeyed God—building something that had never been seen, built, or even imagined—simply because God said to.
Noah obeyed and built the ark. What’s remarkable is that the ark’s design stood out from every other ancient boat. Unlike boats meant for navigation, the ark was built for survival, not direction—it had no rudder, no sails, no way to steer. It didn’t need them, because God was in control of its course.
We don’t need to steer when God is leading.
At that time, rain had never even fallen (Genesis 2:5-6 suggests the earth was watered by mist). Yet, Noah obeyed. He built a massive ship for a phenomenon he had never seen, purely on faith in what God spoke to him. Even when we don’t understand, obedience is our part—God handles the outcome.
Our faith-filled obedience still builds today.
Recently, at Gather25, a 25-hour global Christian conference aimed at mobilizing 2.5 billion believers to share the Gospel, something extraordinary happened. Almost 200 countries participated, with the message translated live into different languages. When asked if anything like this had ever been done before, the technical team answered:
“No one had ever seen or done something like this before!”
You see, God had given the idea to one person in a dream. That person obeyed, and God handled the outcome.
He loves using us to build new things. The ark, built 4,500 years ago, is still impacting the world today. And just like Noah, the faithfulness of those who stepped out for Gather25 will have a lasting impact because God is the one steering.
This reminds me of Isaiah 43:19:
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
God is always at work, creating new opportunities, calling us into deeper faith, and making ways where there seem to be none. The question is—will we obey, even when we don’t fully understand?
My pastor friend asked his congregation a powerful question that I now ask you:
We are all building something—so what are you building?
Are you building with faith, trusting God to lead, or are you trying to steer your own course? May we be like Noah, willing to build with obedience and intention, trusting that God is the One who directs the outcome.
How is your ark coming along?

Love the things you bring out and your last question. I need to think about what God has placed in my heart that is a God sized plan not a Reginia sized one. ❤️
