I Choose Today...

I Choose Today to Be Encapsulated by His Love

Have you ever walked into a house where bread is baking? The aroma fills every corner, and before long, you find yourself drawn to the kitchen, hungry for a taste. There’s something irresistible about the smell of fresh bread—it’s comforting, inviting, and it stirs up an appetite you didn’t even know you had. Now, imagine this: when the loaf comes out of the oven, its aroma intensifies. But it’s when the bread is broken that the true depth of its aroma is released, filling the air and drawing everyone in. It’s as if the bread is saying, This is who I truly am. Taste and see. That, my friend, is a picture of Jesus. In John 6:35, Jesus declares, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” He offers us spiritual sustenance, a satisfaction that only He can give. When He walked this earth, His life was a sweet aroma, inviting everyone into a deeper relationship with God. But it wasn’t until His body—like bread—was broken for us that we could fully experience the depth of His love. At the Last Supper, Jesus broke bread

I Choose Today to Serve Through My Gifts

Have you ever marveled at an artist, watching them bring beauty to life with their God-given talent? Or maybe you’ve been awestruck by an elite athlete whose natural abilities seem almost otherworldly, as though every shot or catch is guided by divine instinct. Perhaps you’ve been moved in a church service by a speaker whose passionate words seemed to touch your very soul. Or maybe it’s a musician, chef, designer, mathematician, or teacher who inspires you. We’ve all encountered people who seem to shine so brightly in their gifts that it’s hard not to wonder: How do they do it? How can they see, think, or act in ways that allow them to create, lead, or serve so powerfully? The answer is in God’s Word. Each of us has been uniquely gifted by God to fulfill the purpose He designed for us. These abilities aren’t random—they are intentional gifts, given by His grace, through the Holy Spirit, to complete the mission He’s set before us. Paul explains this so beautifully in Romans 12: “So it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In His grace, God has given us

I Choose Today to Let Grace Overcome Failure

Over and over in my life, I have had a pattern of starting something, then just when it is about to take off or be completed, I quit. There are a variety of reasons why I choose to quit – a disparaging comment from someone; an obstacle that gets in the way; doubt – but the core to all these “reasons” is the heart of the matter: fear of failure. While over the years I have learned how to overcome this pattern, through the power of the Holy Spirit, fixing my mind on what is true, pure, excellent (Phil. 4:8), and having an amazing support system, the enemy is still up to his old tricks and I am battling once again. He doesn’t want me to press on, but to quit. Satan, the deceiver, doesn’t want God’s people to do the will of the Lord, so he uses the same tactics he’s used since beginning of time: he twists the truth, he puts the seed of doubt in our minds, he tells us we are unequipped, unprepared, unworthy of our calling. We are not enough. We have too many obstacles in our lives. Does any of this resonate with you

I Choose Today to See God Revive What’s Been Lost

Have you ever experienced the death of a dream, a relationship, a job, a family, your innocence? In our own efforts, we are powerless to resurrect these things. But, I have news; I know someone who does have the power to resurrect what is dead: Jesus! There is an historical account of Lazarus who was a good friend of Jesus’. He fell sick and died pretty quickly. He had two sisters who had sent for Jesus before his death in hopes that Jesus would heal him. Jesus did not come right away and Lazarus died. Four days after his death, Jesus shows up. He is too late to heal is friend, but with Jesus, He is never too late to do the impossible; to resurrect what was once dead. In John, we see Jesus response to Martha, Lazarus’ sister saying, “Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”” John‬ ‭11‬:‭25‬-‭26‬ ‭NLT‬‬ “Do you believe this, Martha?”  Such a simple question, right? Martha didn’t question who Jesus was and how anyone

I Choose Today to Breathe His Praise

Recently, during a worship service at church, we sang a song that truly spoke to my heart: “Great Are You Lord” by All Sons and Daughters. (I’ve added the link at the end so you can listen if you’d like.) The chorus resonates deeply:  “It’s Your breath in our lungs, so we pour out our praise, pour out our praise… to You only.”   This beautiful truth led me to reflect on the very moment God gave us breath—the moment He brought life into existence. “Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.”  —Genesis 2:7 (NLT)   This verse reveals three profound truths about our Creator: 1. We Are Created With Intentionality and Purpose God didn’t just make Adam—He formed him. Every detail was intentional, deliberate, and purposeful. Psalm 139:13 reminds us, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Have you ever watched someone knit? Each stitch is part of a larger plan, crafted with care. That’s how God made you—yes, you! He chose every detail about
