We live in a society who has a social media persona; one that we want others to see, admire, emulate, and dare I say envy. We get so caught up in who we are or competing with and envying others, that we lose our true selves. Or worse, we hide our true selves. I mentor a group of Moms once a month. During our last meeting, a mom said she sees all the bad things she does, bad thoughts she has, and does not see any good in herself. She was believing a lie about who she was in Christ; a child of the King! She was looking at herself through the world’s eyes, through Satan’s lies, and not the reality of her royalty. I reminded her of how God sees her; through the lense of Christ: His sacrifice, His perfection, His mercy, His grace, His love, His salvation. God had to teach me these things because I didn’t hear them while growing up. I heard that I was dumb, stupid, and would never amount to anything. I learned I was invisible; not worth the time.
